Sigmund Jähn: “La evolución nos ha atado a esta tierra”
Excelente -y muy íntima- entrevista la que publicó Der Spiegel junto a Sigmund Jähn, primer cosmonauta alemán en el espacio. Más allá de contar algunos detalles históricos sobre sus misiones al cosmos, el programa espacial soviético y los cohetes Soyuz (!) me gustó mucho su reflexión final, sobre cómo nuestro destino y futuro, como especie, está atado a esta tierra.
SPIEGEL: Will humanity someday establish colonies on faraway planets?
JÄHN: I don’t believe the visions of humans emigrating into space one day. Evolution has tied us to the Earth. I would rather walk through the woods in the Vogtland region (ed’s note: where Jähn was born) than float through the narrow tubes of a spaceship forever.
